DIY – 6th Scent Deodorant

Usually, when looking for a deodorant product, we’re looking for either a deodorant we already know and use, or either walking around the pharmacy spraying new labels of deodorants all around trying to smell what just came out.💨

What if we told you that there is a way of choosing your deodorant smell?🤫

And what would you say if we told you that in today’s blog post we’re going to learn how to make a homemade natural DIY deodorant recipe.🏡

This recipe was made up after we were looking for a deodorant product to promote (an existing one!), but then we found out, that most of the drug-store products contain chemicals that could harm our skin’s function to essential issues.😥

So, what is this recipe made of?🤔

Every ingredient in this deodorant homemade recipe plays a different role, with different kinds of nutrients & properties.

This recipe is made with Cornstarch, Coconut oil, Lavender essential oil, Tea tree oil, and Frankincense oil.

Why is Cornstarch good in a natural deodorant recipe?🌽

The cornstarch is known with its moisture-absorbing properties and lack of scent, which will make your homemade deodorant function, and prevent sweat.

Plus, Cornstarch has a soothing quality, which makes it ideal to deal with irritations. The Cornstarch contains some amounts of vitamin B, which feeds the skin in essential nutrients and rejuvenate our skin’s cell.

Why is Coconut oil a must-have in a natural deodorant recipe?🥥

Coconut oil is known for its moisturizing effect. Luckily for us, we don’t need any moisture to our deodorant. (don’t worry, the cornstarch will cover it)

We chose Coconut oil to this recipe because of its anti-bacterial properties. That property will make sure to protect our skin from odor-causing bacteria.

If we sum it in 1 sentence – The coconut’s oil role in this recipe is to prevent bad smell. Keeps us smelling good and preventing bacteria.

Why use Tea tree oil in homemade deodorants?🌳 

The Tea tree is known for its amazing antiseptic properties and legendary aroma.

With these antiseptic properties, the Tea tree creates another protective layer, on top of the Coconut oil, to maximize its defenses and block bacterias from appearing.

Lavender Oil in homemade deodorant – Is it worth it?🌸 

Lavender is known for both physical & emotional effects. 

The Lavender possesses anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, which makes it obvious that lavender is the right oil to use again itchy skin, irritated skin, or even dry skin.

Because of its amazing aroma, lavender oil help with stress relife helps with anxiety. 

All of that while it is nourishing and feeding your skin with essentials!

How is the Frankincense oil used in the DIY deodorant recipe?🤍 

Used in aromatherapy, Frankincense works as an expectorant to clear the nasal passageway, promote the relief of congestion, and encourage easy breathing.

It’s sweet, woody aroma is sedative and enhances mood by diminishing feelings of stress and anxiety while improving concentration and memory.

DIY13 6th scent deodorant

Ingredients ⭐️

1/2 Cup.

Cornstarch

1/2 Cup.

Coconut Oil

10 Drops.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

10 Drops.

Lavender Essential Oil

10 Drops.

Frankincense Oil

How To Make 🥣

Step 1

Set up a workspace including a double boiler, a large bowl, a hand mixer, a jar, and the ingredients mentioned above.

Step 4

Slightly melt the coconut oil in a double-boiler on low heat. Once done, move the melted coconut oil to a bowl. Add the cornstarch and mix well.

Step 3

Once  you get a fine, combined texture, add the Lavender, Tea tree, and Frankincense essential oils to your bowl, and stir well once again.

Step 4

Once done, let it sit in the fridge for 3 hours. Take it out, and there you go! Your own natural deodorant.

How To Use ❓

With a cotton pad, rub against the deodorant. Once the cotton pad is wet with deodorant, gently pat around your armpits to spread it as wisely as possible.

Notes 📌

Make sure not to use too much of this deodorant at once. Remember it has coconut oil which in big amounts, it is becoming over-moisturized.
